Anna Gilmour (nee Křížová) – BSc (Hons) Counselling & Psychotherapy, Dip. Counselling & Psychotherapy
Therapeutic Approach
I offer a humanistic and integrative approach to therapy. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental and respectful environment in which you can gradually open and explore the topics that you bring to therapy; your difficulties, choices, dreams and aspirations.
I offer active listening, understanding, a better insight and orientation in particular issues and support. You will always be in control of what we will be talking about during the session and of how deep we will explore your issues. I will help you to identify and use better your strengths, abilities and resources so you can live a happier and more fulfilling life.
Since the needs of everyone are unique I draw on different therapeutic concepts most notably the Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Existential and Cognitive Behavioural approaches. This integrative approach allows me to respond sensitively to your individual needs.
Background
After leaving school, I studied law at Charles University in Prague. During the years of my studies and work in the field, I gradually realised that this was not my path. I felt drawn to psychology and in particular to psychotherapy and counselling. In 2008 an opportunity presented itself to study psychotherapy and counselling in Ireland and I went on to complete the Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy at PCI College in Dublin followed by my BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Middlesex University, London (2013). As part of my studies, I completed four years of training in humanistic and integrative psychotherapy.
